| 1. How can my business venture be considered for funding by TVAN Angel Investors? | |
| | |
|
The process is as follows:
- Register and complete the Business Review Form (BRF) on the TVAN website.
We do not consider business plans in any other fashion.
- If your BRF passes initial review by TVAN, you'll be notified to complete an Entrepreneur Agreement and to send an administrative fee of $300 unless you have previously presented at the Venture Bplan (www.venturebplan.com), in which case, the fee will be reduced.
- After TVAN has received your agreement and administrative fee, you'll be scheduled to present to the TVAN Review Committee (not the Angels) for 20 minutes plus extensive question and answer along with suggestions and feedback.
- Your presentation and all materials will be carefully reviewed by TVAN.
- You will be notified and scheduled to present to the angels if TVAN feels you are a good fit for the angels.

| 2. Can my venture be considered without completing the Business Review Form (BRF) or can I just send you a copy of my business plan? | |
| | |
|
The process of reviewing entrepreneurial businesses is time consuming and the Business Review Form (BRF) has been established to facilitate efficient examination and fair consideration of all ventures. With this in mind, we cannot accept any business plans or summaries in a form besides the integrated BRF.

| 3. Who has access to the information I submit pertaining to my company? | |
| | |
|
TVAN maintains strict confidentiality of the information you submit. The information is only made available to those from the Center for Economic Growth directly involved with running TVAN, the TVAN Advisory Board and participating angel investors.
| |
| 4. Does my start-up venture have to be a high tech company? | |
| | |
|
TVAN is interested in viable businesses that have some sort of technology bent. We do not work with businesses such as real estate opportunites, restaurants, retail shops, etc.
| |
| 5. Where does my company have to be located to be considered by TVAN? | |
| | |
|
TVAN will consider opportunities based particularly in Northeastern New York State and adjacent Western New England, however, this target area can be expanded to a degree. We prefer businesses within 150 miles of Albany, New York but make exceptions based on how much interest we feel the angels may have in a business.
| |
| 6. If I'm selected to present to the Angel Investors, what is the format of that presentation? | |
| | |
|
If selected, you will be invited to a monthly dinner meeting of TVAN Angel Investors. You'll be given 20 minutes to present your opportunity to the investors plus a 20 minute question and answer session. If desired, you may use audio/visual aids to assist you in your presentation (subject to TVAN's approval), however we do require use of slides such as Power Point to use with the presentation.
| |
| 7. Can I bring other team members with me to present to investors? | |
| | |
|
You may bring 1 additional key team member to the presentation and dinner at no charge. Requests to bring additional team members will be considered by the TVAN on a case by case basis. If the member is accepted, an additional fee will be charged.
| |
| 8. How is TVAN compensated for assisting my business? | |
| | |
|
TVAN is compensated by annual membership fees paid by TVAN Angel and Institutional members and also in the small administrative fee required of entrepreneurs who sign an agreement with TVAN after being accepted by the Review Committee. TVAN also accepts sponsorships.
